Swimtastic Swim School Expands Water Safety Education To The Internet

Swimtastic Swim School, a member of the United States Swim School Association, has announced free online availability of a water safety activity book via their website. Swimtastic is a Waukesha, Wisconsin based swim school that now has locations in Fox Cities and Franklin WI, Lincoln and Omaha NE, as well as Captiva and Ft. Myers FL.

Swimtastic’s primary goal as a swim school is to educate both parents and children about the importance of water safety and the safety rules that go along with it. According to the National Drowning Prevention Alliance, drowning is the second leading cause of death due to unintentional injury for children ages 1-14 in the United States. This amounts to roughly ten people every day who pass away due to something that could have been prevented through proper education.

Swimtastic has taken innovative approaches towards water safety education in the past; however, before now it has been from a local standpoint. The free online tool will help to expand water safety education to any family who has access to the internet. Locally, Swimtastic has long featured a water safety puppet show, educating children through fun and engagement at schools and daycares. The show features two characters; appropriately named Bubbles and Splash, who teach children life-saving water safety rules.

The unique water safety activity book features word searches, puzzles, and coloring pages, and is designed specifically to create a fun and informative approach for children to learn life-saving water safety tips with their parents. Swimtastic is urging families to educate their children about the dangers of drowning. While the best way to prevent drowning is learning how to swim; education on the subject, along with proper preventative measures such as fencing, supervision, and life-jackets are all big steps in the right direction.
